Super fun to see a new production of this show, with fresh new takes on Violet and Judy by Lauren Kennedy and Sara Jean Ford, respectively. Small but funny line flub by Sara Jean Ford when she was saying she was going to go to "daycare," almost said "rehab" by mistake. Includes most of curtain call and cast singing "9 to 5" at the end.

NOTES: Really beautiful shot in an intimate space. Lots of zooms, but a good amount of wider shots too with a very limited (almost nonexistent) amount of heads. The lighting in this theater really liked my camera and I know the show almost “by heart” so I think I followed the action as well as possible. My battery died during the last song, but it starts at the very beginning with only one drop out during dialogue.

NOTES:Closing show! Or “rock concert” if you ask Christy Altomare. Yeah so this is a pretty obstructed video. Everyone was really excited so people were standing up, people were moving around. It’s mostly like highlights, but all of the things that happen in the center part of the stage are captured really well and the video is DEFINITELY Christy centric. “Journey to the Past” is complete and gorgeous and you will cry. When Gerry sat on the credenza it nearly collapsed under him and he commented, "I'm just going to stand" and Kennedy broke character and started laughing. Later the hospital bed did not come out so Carole and Gerry stood next to each other talking.

NOTES: Two days before the show closed on Broadway. Good amount of closeups and good quality filmed from the mid-mezzanine; there is a railing issue for a while in Act 1 but the taper improves. 'Me', 'Gaston' and 'Be Our Guest' are all predominantly missing and recording stopped for some time after 'Gaston', which created a little jump in the timeline to where Maurice gets thrown out of the tavern. Still a nice video with great closeups of the last Broadway cast.

NOTES: Great wide-shot phone boot of this incredible production from Olney Theatre. A few scenes are a little dark, and tiny bit is missed only on the far right side of the stage (nothing more than about 20 seconds). This cast is absolute fire, and deserves all the accolades and attention they've gotten from national publications. The inclusion of a large, Black woman playing Belle and having a Beast played by a man with a pegleg without caricature is truly inspiring. The set and costumes are so imaginative and every minute of this show is just a joy.

Extremely clear sound with just minor hissing, great colors and great picture, though close-ups are not so often as you could expect. The only video of the original Japanese version with its unique white costume for Tugger.

Also the audience is totally excited by the show. At the end of the show there's a long encore with a medley performed by many people who have been in the London production of Cats. Brian Blessed, the Original London Cast, the final London cast and the original creative team also sing "The Addressing of Cats" together. Although the quality isn't that good (as it was filmed from a screen), this video is a must have for everyone who loves the show!
